Times Square Remix
In rip!, we created a sequence in Times Square that presented Times Square as the ultimate example of privately owned consumer culture. We're looking for a response in RIP the extended version. We've got all the source files for you to remix times square.
Here's the end of the film, with Times Square inserted. This is where we're looking for remix!
Of course, if you want to remix other sections, or use this in other work, thats up to you! But the plan that exists now is to take the Times Square bits and rotoscoping them, photoshop them, re-create them, and remix the private corporate world back into the public domain.
Below are the series of 5 shots - cut into fragments. Take each fragment, and remix the highlighted portions. When we mix them together, it'll be a global collaboration where within every shot, multiple creators will be present.
Download the .zip files - they contain quicktime files of each shot, as well as .jpg sequences of every frame. Grab these and remake the shots in your own image! Think public domain - what can we replace these corporate symbols with?

Nice video and images of NY. Thanks for sharing.
I stayed at the Westin for one night while I was on a business trip in NYC. There was no line when I checked-in, so the check-in process was very quick. My room, with a King sized bed, was nice, but not overly large. There was a little room to walk around the bed, but that's about it.
The future of copyright and culture is changing as we speak - so why fix it in stone? The end of the movie needs to be in constant flux, and needs to be built from more than one perspective. So that's why we're asking for your help.
The Times Square area consists of the blocks between Sixth and Eighth Avenues from east to west, and West 40th and West 53rd Streets from south to north, making up the western part of the commercial area of Midtown Manhattan.

Awesome Shots! -
Despite its name this is not actually a square, but rather two triangles, the upper one inverted so that they meet point to point. This odd shape is formed by errant Broadway, which here crosses Seventh Avenue at a diagonal. In fact, the northern triangle is more properly called Duffy Square, but everyone appears to refer to the whole of this space as Times Square.

After the success of Silent Alarm Remixed I think Bloc Party (pretty clearly) wrote Intimacy’s songs with the back-of-the-head idea that they were also gonna get the remix treatment. I mean, listen to the original “Mercury.” It’s full of loops, sequencer beats, and vocal cuts. It’s a pretty good idea, although the source material still needs to be strong for it to actually succeed.

good information but don't get the idea why they start these kind of trial when the criminal are old. Really funny. Perhaps this more personal form of accountability will deter future actors where the fear of international condemnation has not
Thats very cool vids and images.

They should also leave with some ideas and solutions for their own infrastructure.

What can I say apart from I’m very impressed with Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Netbook Remix. , , , , , , , , , , , I found the whole experience far better than 8.10 which left me with sound card driver bugs and strange display errors. All of these were all fixable and easy enough to do but I want my Ubuntu to work out the box, and Jaunty seems to have delivered this!
Wonderful post. Thank you for putting your thoughts so precisely.
